$1000 Donation to Great Sunflower Project

The Great Sunflower Project is the largest citizen science project, focused on pollinators with over 100,000 members. Participants plant Lemon Queen Sunflowers, and then monitor the number of bees and other pollinators that visit the sunflowers. Join thousands of other volunteer citizen-scientists monitoring bee populations throughout the country. The information you gather and submit is vital to get a clear picture of bee population trends.

BEE POPULATIONS ARE IN DECLINE, IN LARGE PART DUE TO HABITAT DESTRUCTION.

HONEES has provided over $50,000 to non-profit groups around the country, helping them create sustainable gardens for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

For 2020, we are tightening our focus to our home region of Connecticut and New England. For inquiries about the program, just click on the “Questions?” icon on this page.
